Pony Pals!

At SCAD's Editor's Day this year, I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. David Saylor, editor for Scholastic's Graphix imprint. It was a very pleasant experience, I'm glad to say! Anyway, Mr. Saylor expressed interest in doing a horse and/or pony related graphic novel series. I suggested Pony Pals (blast from the past!!) but it turns out, it's no longer a best selling series. How sad! Anyway, I did some character designs of the Pony Pals crew to show him, and I think they turned out rather cute! Top to bottom is Lulu and her pony Snow White, Pam and her pony Lightning, and Anna and her pony Acorn.

I LOVED these books when I was a kid, and hopefully horse crazy little girls like myself will have something as awesome as the Pony Pals sometime soon!

P.S. I am still figureing out Blogspot, so sorry for the grainy thumbnails!

Bottle Charm!

Ever since forever, I've been attracted to cute and/or shiny little objects, like a raccoon or something. Specifically small bottles and keys, little charms, etc.

There's a little story to go along with this blog's namesake, Bottle Charm, but I'd rather not type it all out without having my illustrations done! Anyway, all you need to know is that I'll be handing these little babies out as business cards and selling them at artist alleys in the near future, so keep an eye out!

In the meantime, said bottle is modeled by my lovely doll, Wendy.

You've reached the professional blog of Anna Lencioni, the artist formally (and presently, in some circles of the internet) known as MissAmerikka. I'd advise you not to go there, though, since I'm putting all my interesting stuff here now! Everything else is all my old fanart and silly things like that.

A little about me: I'm currently a sequential art major at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I became an art student because I wanted to have a job that I'd enjoy, rather than be a pharmacist like my mom wanted me to be, and be miserable during the day but still make a lot of money. Better to have a fun job and live comfortably, right? Well, at least I hope that's what I'm going for.

I love animation and comics in a broad variety of forms, and in my spare time I like to ride my two Morgan horses, play Pokemon, and play in the woods...Well, I did that more as a kid growing up in Swanzey, New Hampshire, but building gnome-homes underneath trees certainly inspired some of my fairy-themed works.
